NLCS GAME 1 Links/Notes "TEA-BAG THE D-BAGS!"

Matt Holliday accidentally KO's Kaz

Game 1, Tonight, you may have heard about it...

Tons of links and more coverage today then the first 15 years of Rockies' baseball combined.

-The Todd Helton story gets national attention; Arizona paper spotlights Matt Holliday's decision to spurn Okie State football.
-No Aaron Cook, but Willie Tavares adds some speed to a lineup that ain't exactly struggling.
-Apparently there are "faceless" stars in this series. And that is really the headline, nationally, for this series as the Rox and D-Bags are unknown quantities around the country.
-Series Previews roll in, Yahoo!; Yahoo2; ESPN Series' Page
-Simulations are uber-lame. Wait, they picked the Rockies? Simulations rule. And Tim Kurkjian picked the D-Bags, so we're halfway home already! And while we're talking about horrible writers, here's Jim Armstrong.
-D-Bag fans will probably show up, at their players are hoping.
-Arizona relishing the underdog status, again.
-The Rockies are saying all the right things about wanting more then this incredible run so far.
-D-Bag Stephen Drew comes into his own. He is impressive, he's definitely the 2nd best shortstop in this series.
-Our national obsession with creating rivalries from the ether continues. It's like "HEY, THAT COULD BE A RIVALRY!!" Which is why there really aren't any new rivalries because no one lets them develop.

And the last word goes to me...

Colorado is simply playing far too well to anticipate anything other then a Rockie win in this series. Tonight's game will go a long way towards determining how long the series goes, in my mind. If the Rockies beat Webb tonight then this series will not go back to Arizona for games 6 or 7. Hawpe, Holliday, Atkins, Helton and Tulo didn't even have the greatest numbers in the world last series and the Rox swept a better team from Philly. I think Webb probably gets it done tonight and the Rockies end up splitting in Arizona, taking 2 of 3 in Colorado and clinching the series in the desert. Either way the final out of the NLCS will look at lot like this...

Rockies in six
